Course Overview

Give cardiac arrest victims the best possible chance of survival. Learn how to use the growing number of AEDs available in public places. This 4 hour course teaches the candidate how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Who should attend?

Suitable for people 18 years and over, this course is designed for workplace candidates who wish to be trained in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) machine and do have a current first aid certificate.

What will you learn?

Basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations. Key components of the Emergency Life Support and Basic Life Skills courses tailored to meet your individual and business needs. Baby and child First Aid can be included if required and we will always tailor the course to the requirements of your business.

Course Content

  • Recap of personal safety
  • Assessing the incident and patient
  • DRABC check and sending for help
  • Defibrillation (recognition of heart rhythms)
  • CPR and use of AED on a casualty
  • General guidelines for using a defibrillator
  • Recording of information (sample report form)
  • Handover to the emergency services
